The Italian National team won their match-up over Israel in the European Championship qualifiers Friday by a score of 40-10. After entering the locker room even at 10-10, the Italian squad came alive in the second half, shutting out Israel while stringing together five scoring drives of their own.
“We had a rough start today in the first half,” said Luke Zahradka, quarterback for the Italian team. “But we were able to make some adjustments at halftime and play how we are normally capable of playing for the rest of the game.”
Three of those five second-half scoring drives resulted in passing touchdowns from Zahradka. He finished the day completing 19 of his 23 pass attempts for 266 yards and three touchdowns.
Zahradka and the Italian National team will continue their European Championship play against Serbia on Sunday at 7 PM (GMT+2).
